Our Curriculum

We use The Creative Curriculum, a comprehensive, research-based curriculum aligned with Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards. Children learn through purposeful play, hands-on exploration, classroom routines, small- and large-group experiences, and engaging studies.

These experiences build skills across all areas of development, including social-emotional, language, literacy, math, science, physical development, creative arts, and critical thinking.

Building Strong Early Readers

To strengthen kindergarten readiness and create consistency with Bexley schools, we incorporate two additional early literacy programs into our Pre-K day:

Heggerty Phonemic & Phonological Awareness helps children learn to hear and work with the sounds in spoken language. Through short, engaging activities, children practice rhyming, syllables, beginning sounds, and blending and separating sounds in words. These skills provide an important foundation for learning to read.

Wilson Fundations® helps children make the connection between sounds and print. Through brief, multisensory activities, children learn letter recognition, letter sounds, correct letter formation, and early handwriting skills.

Together, Heggerty and Fundations help connect what children hear to what they see and write—building a strong foundation for future reading success.
