Buckeye Room
Two-year-oldsWelcome to our Buckeye Room, where our 2-year-olds spend their days playing, exploring, growing, and discovering! We believe toddlers learn best when they feel safe, loved, supported, and free to explore the world around them.
Our Curriculum
We use The Creative Curriculum for Toddlers & Twos, a research-based, play-centered curriculum aligned with Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards. At this age, learning happens all day long—from play and story time to meals, handwashing, diapering, and transitions.
We build a warm, trusting relationship with each child while creating a classroom filled with hands-on experiences and open-ended materials. Through blocks, dramatic play, sensory exploration, art, music, books, movement, and outdoor play, children are encouraged to explore, communicate, problem-solve, and become more independent.
Growing the Whole Child
Throughout the year, we support development in all areas, including:
- Social-emotional skills and relationships
- Language and early literacy
- Thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving
- Early math and science concepts
- Fine and gross motor development
- Independence and self-help skills
- Creativity, music, movement, and pretend play
Most importantly, we recognize that play is how toddlers learn. Our goal is to provide a nurturing, joyful environment where every child feels secure, valued, and excited to discover something new each day.
