Dear Brothers and Sisters,
A carpenter…that’s what Jesus was before He turned the world upside down….a simple carpenter. In Mark 6:3, early on in His ministry, Jesus returned to His hometown of Nazareth. His old friends and neighbors scoffed at the idea that Jesus was doing miraculous, amazing things…teaching with authority unlike any other. And so they said, ‘Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon? And aren’t His sisters here with us? And they took offense at Him.’
